The Central Provinces were the epitome of the elegant life before the Sects invaded their borders.
Rich with ornate towers and resplendent homes, its people were totally unprepared for the devastation wrought by Imperator Halikar. Those that did not accept his rule utterly and pledge their undying allegiance to the banner of the Sects were wiped out, their cities leveled by devastating Teknomajik and waves of massive armored troops. For ten years the Central Provinces have fought back against the rule of the Sects, however most resistance happens behind the Ironfrost barricade. Confrontation within the Sect held regions is publicly, and brutally, eradicated. Although there are still a few that would stand up against the Sects within their own realm, they have had little in the way of victories. Almost no information has leaked from the Sect Citadel within New Cenrea, and all Ironfrost agents sent into the city have never returned. A few kilometers west of the Citadel lies the front line, a no mans land of burnt building husks and toppled structures stretching from the Tal’un Gulf in the South to the Ash Dunes in the North. Along both sides are the engines of war, massive tanks and airships backed by thousands of foot soldiers wait for the attack to come from Teknomajik driven floating citadels that bristle with lightning and are lined with pallid armored brutes backed by magi that can turn a man inside out with a flick of the wrist. Most terrifying of all are the Teknomajik monstrosities, the Colossi. Walking engines of war that tower over the battlefield with the ability to decimate legions with foul majiks and Galefire weaponry; some say they are driven by ensorcelled daemons, bound to the Sects through vile pacts of darkness and servitude. Ironfrost waits for the Sects to move, however the Sects seem to have found whatever they invaded the Central Provinces for within the Crater. Now it is only left to question, what did they find within the Crater? Is it truly a font of ancient technology as told by the historians of Ironfrost, left by the shining ship on its crash landing? Or is it something else entirely? |
