The Outer Provinces - The Bountiful Land

Rich in life-giving delta and soil, the Outer Provinces is the agri-center of the entire western coast of Astaar.      Ruled by a Council of Representatives hailing from all Provinces, the independent city states get along for the most part, usually resolving their differences with pitched bid battles in which sides will attempt victory with the fewest troops possible.  Several territorial disputes are settled non-lethally, however some particularly vicious Provinces prefer the bloody variety.  However, with recent events, most inner disputes have ground to a halt as Provincial Guard are shipped away to defend the northern border or bolster Ironfrost’s efforts in the Central Provinces.     Most trade is done with Ironfrost to support their lack of agricultural development and harsh land, and limited trade is still done with the outlying Central Provinces, those not beneath the heel of the Sects.  In ancient times before the Syllarian War, trade had even been established with the many clans within the northern mountains.  However, many years after the Syllarian War and subsequent near-annihilation of the species, the Syllarians have reappeared, much different than before, and laid waste to the northern-most Provinces.     The Provincial Guard is stretched far too thin along the entire border and their assistance to Ironfrost in the Central Provinces, it is nearly impossible to deflect the Syllarians assault.  In addition to that, Galefire storms have been sweeping down from the north, devastating cities with vile majiks and horrible daemonic mutation.
